Becoming a Freemason

Freemasonry is interesting because it is simultaneously inclusive and exclusive.

It is inclusive in that one must meet only a few criteria in order to join.  One must be male, over the age of 18, have a belief in deity, and be considered a good man.  Anyone meeting these criteria is free to petition for membership.  We do not offer invitations.  In fact, specifically asking someone to join is considered bad form.  A brother must come to us completely of his own free will.

And yet, Freemasonry can be exclusive.  Not everyone who petitions to join a lodge will gain admission.  Every lodge has a different character and not every lodge is right for every candidate.  A petitioner must not only demonstrate that they are a good man, they must also show that they are a good fit with the lodge.

At Braden, we come from very diverse backgrounds.  We tend towards the informal , but we take the work seriously.  We are thoughtful, ever mindful of how Masonry can teach us to become better, but we also excel in fellowship, getting together in one form or another almost every Thursday.

Is Braden right for you?  There's no eHarmony survey to take and find out. Instead we recommend you simply find out for yourself. We have open fellowship nights every 2nd, 4th, and 5th Thursdays of the month.  Feel free to come hang out with us, get to know our members, and let us get to know you.  If it's right, you should know.

In the meantime, if you'd like someone to contact you and answer any questions you may have, feel free to fill out the form below.
